In 1998, Sega released a four disc masterpiece on the sunsetting hardware of the Saturn, only to lose the source code forever. This is the complete story, philosophy, and tragedy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, the elusive holy grail of JRPGs.
Those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s experienced a meteoric rise of technology in our lives. We are the last generations who will soon ever remember what it was like to be "unplugged", though even that feeling in my mind is starting to fade the older I get. The pros and cons of these advances have grown alongside each other, but what happens when the automated systems we rely on keep running for another thousand years? Is our will at this current time something that will be good for the world a thousand years from now? I think Panzer Dragoon Saga's attempt to predict and visualize the answers to these questions was beautiful and brilliant. Also it was a fun game. Check it out if you have a spare 90 minutes sometime :)

And man, I really felt that ending... No one is going to come save us from our mistakes shivers
I absolutely loved this one. I think we all get that... uncanny feeling every once in a while. Why are we still here? Is this all just a test? Is everyone "watching" just laughing at me fail?
I hope the Divine Visitor has something good in store for you - anyone reading this.
Great writing and narration, thank you.
Panzer Dragoon Saga had a pretty bittersweet ending and yeah, this game's story was WAY ahead of its time with how much more scarily relatable is now than back then...
Great vid though. Can't wait for the next one!.
