A story that tugs at the heart strings, Mighty Dave simply wanted to spend time with his kid(Mighty Mike) through their love of video games and Youtube, but this would come at a halt when he'd later find out that $118k from his corporate credit card would vanish because his 9 year old wanted to buy views for his channel.
As everyone was getting ready to help in any way they could, the entire story would start falling apart in less than 96 hours, shattering all good will and ruining what could have been a wonderful story with a very wholesome ending.

i knew it was a scam cause the dad was way too chill with it all. if it was my mom, i'd have been evaporated.

@Nova-Pixel-9 12 days ago

Yeah, 118k on a company card would have been caught in like a couple hours regardless of what it was on

"No donations, I can still work for myself." asks a robot to make an ugly shirt

"I have two hands, I can sweat, I can work" My dude, you are in Marketing, I'm not sure how much you've actually sweated working in your life, unless the AC in your office was down.

it's genuinely no wonder everyone's losing their empathy because look what happens when you give a shit about someone else's supposed issues :/

@elainalan3952 12 days ago

I’m both relieved and annoyed at the fact this was scam. Relieved because Dad isn’t losing his job/family isn’t going into debt trying to pay this off; annoyed that anything can be a scam now jfc.

If I'd done something like this as a kid, my mom wouldn't make a video calmly explaining the situation. She'd make a video of me getting executed; that's how you know this is a scam

The way the mask IMMEDIATELY went off when talking about AI 😭😭😭

@ArcOslo 11 days ago

“I still have my two hands, I can work,“
Proceeds to use AI to not do any work.

I'd be willing to bet that the "out of stock" was also faked as a marketing scheme to make it look the shirts were in higher demand than they actually were. It's print on demand drop-shipping. The whole point of the business model is there is no stock.

@marialuizam.a 12 days ago

not gonna lie if i was 118k dollars in debt i dont think id be willing to call myself "mighty dave" while trying to adress this as a serious situation

@Shakalakadera 12 days ago

Every scheme like this makes people less likely to believe real people struggling.

And I really hate that

@sailorenthusiast 11 days ago

Bro. The fact that he pulls the “AI is here to stay. Adapt or get left behind.” line in response to the concern people have about the AI merch just completely shattered the illusion that he was some chill dad trying to navigate an insane situation. Absolutely ridiculous.

As an HR professional, I knew that it was a scam because every single thing that the dad said in the initial video had me wondering what kind of company would let the dad make a video after they discover the wrongdoing. I'd get linking a professional card to a personal account and a $20 charge makes sense and can be explained/apologized out, but no company would let word continue especially after they discover the 118K charge associated to it.

@DrXenirosPhD 12 days ago

One thing that made me really realize this was suspicious was the dad disabling comments to protect his kid but he also said the kid wasn’t gonna be getting any screen time. Like aight bro

@custardpup6385 12 days ago

I knew it was a scam immediately because what kind of father would sit there and make a video and thumbnail after finding out that his life was literally completely ruined. It's just too goofy to be real.

@theparcoffic 12 days ago

LOLLL the classic "ai is here to stay, adapt or get left behind". They all say this 💀💀 CORNNNYYYYY 🌽

@Itsjxydennn 12 days ago

Damn it so it actually was a scam

@banzaiperson 11 days ago

I mean, using a corporate card to buy your kid some robux is not gonna go over well with the company's accounting department or the IRS. Right from there the story was COMPLETELY suspect.
