I've never been a Vikings fan, but if you don't like Bud Grant, you don't like football.

This is a lesson the world needs...kindness and decency come first. Period.

"You got dogs, you got responsibility too," now who can't get behind that kind of guy!

RIP Steve Sabol--thanks for your groundbreaking work on NFL films with your dad

it would be great to see the team win a title with Bud still alive.

Bud had the best attitude of any winning coach

a great coach a great man and an  even greater human being

An amazing coach. But even more so as a man with all his priorities and values in the right places. A role model for all. From a lifelong Lions fan.

One of the greatest coaches ever.

Bud Grant is also beloved in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada--he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL and after he retired as a player went on to coach the team to several CFL championships-he was offered the head coaching job in Minnesota in 1961 when the team was formed but decided to stay in Winnipeg. When Norm Van Brocklin tanked as a headcoach in Minnesota-team management approached Mr. Grant in 1967 and he accepted the job--and the rest is history--a statue of Mr. Grant now sits outside Winnipeg's new football stadium

I enjoyed seeing how his players stood for the national anthem with pride and how much enjoyed life outside of football when it was a game.

Bud Grant is only man to play in both the NFL and the NBA.

A family man! Coaching in today's league is stupid crazy now. I respect this man for coaching longevity and taking care of home. Football is not life!

A rare breed. Thank you Bud.

my parents lived next door to Bud and Pat Grant when he played/coached in Winnipeg of the CFL (prior to his coming to Minnesota)--he was a very quiet, gracious man who loved his family deeply and treated his players like family too.

Bud Grant died today. He was 95 years old and retired 39 years ago, but I'm still sad. Another childhood hero is gone.

I never heard Bud Grant speak until I watched this video. But just seeing him on the sidelines focused on the game, spoke volumes.  What a leader.

Love you, Bud. C'mon, Vikes. Win one for him.

They do not make them like that anymore. God Bless Coach Grant.

Always loved how our players stood stoic, at attention, helmets at their sides, during the national anthem. That was all Bud. RIP Bud, you were the best!
