Love seeing someone just enjoying participating instead of competing

What a lovely video, beautiful scenery, slow transitions, time to enjoy it all. Really inspiring.

I was there, so much fun! Well behind Heather, but more importantly, my dog Luca made it into the video @13:48 while supporting at T2! 😊

I needed this. I first saw this 5-6 years ago and put it down in my bucket list .

Ill health has taken my racing away for a while but this would make for a nice holiday race.

You are so great Heather, the only thing missing is another 20 mins or so to give more detail. Fave GTN/GCN/GMNB presenter (since the OG Cannings moved off-screen) ❤❤❤❤

Thank you Heather and GTN for an epiphany — this video made me suddenly realize I don’t actually HAVE to thrash myself every race for podium glory! I’m a type A like many attracted to the sport, and the idea of deliberately going slow in spots was truly alien … BUT I found your experience refreshing, and appreciate you can still test yourself while focusing on camaraderie, adventure and accomplishment. It’s the same in the trail ultra community, which I already enjoy tbh, but I never thought to take the same approach to multisport. I think I need a gravel bike! #N+1

Looks amazing - well done - never knew there were gravel triathlon. I will look out for one thanks for sharing 😊

@neilcam 11 months ago

Oh that looked like incredible fun and a stunning course! Thank you so much for bringing that to us Heather.

Looks like fun.

This def looks more fun than a 'standard' triathlon. Maybe its just the people or the route encouraged you to slow time at times so you can actually look around and maybe walk the hill with others and have a little chat. In a normal tri most people are just having a competition against themselves.

Heather, it was a nice surprise meeting you at SGrail100. Good luck with your preparations for the 70.3 world champs!

I'm a huge fan of gravel riding, as a triathlete I probably do 80% of my cycling volume on the gravel bike and its great for improving your technical bike handling skills. It's a shame that in the UK we don't have many of these events, I can only think of two, Gravel Sprint at Outlaw Holkham and the The Restless Gravel Tri in Scotland. SGRAIL 100 is on the bucket list.
