He has long been celebrated as the father of the Russian Revolution and the first leader of the USSR, but his story also hides dark secrets. Today, we're focusing on Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, better known as Lenin. We'll try to understand how childhood trauma transformed a model student into a fervent revolutionary, and then into a ruthless leader. You'll see that he stopped at nothing to advance the cause of the revolution, and that once in power, he didn't hesitate to plunge the country into terror and chaos to maintain his grip on it—all while convinced he was acting in the best interests of the Russian people.
