Gun dealers in Kandahar are cashing in on the collapse of the Afghan army and the swift evacuation of Western forces by openly selling military-grade weapons, ammunition, and accessories. Shockingly, the price of a rifle can be bought for as low as $17 USD.

Time Stamps:
00:00 - Welcome to Kandahar, Afghanistan
00:29 - We Found the Outdoor Gun Market!
06:35 - Martini-Henry Rifle (Anglo-Afgan War)
08:48 - Man Repairing and Selling Guns
13:30 - Young Boy with Gun
19:45 - Final Gun Shop

I am an Afghan and this translator's Farsi is great. Not only his translations are accurate, but also his Farsi literature.

incredibly respectful man the gun store owner is, even though he doesnt understand the english he still looks you in the eyes when your speaking to him. i love that

This is such a genuine interaction there is no way a gun store owner in the US would be so open and happy to show off their inventory to a foreigner who couldn’t even speak English. Very genuine interaction

As a retired interpreter, this man's interpretation skills are off the chart. His culture knowledge and fluency are incredibly personable. The Afghans are incredibly tough but respectful. I'm hoping they finally have a peaceful existence.

I love how patient everyone is with each other. A way better look into their world than what we see on the news

These gun shop guys have the same energy as guitar shop guys back home. Real chill, know about the product, content to hang out, chat, and let you handle the items.

The translator’s English is out of this world. English is one of the National languages in India and Pakistan but I’ve never seen any Indian or Pakistani speak better than an afghan who lives in an English less society.
The people are so graceful. Just like us Pashtuns here in Pak. 🇵🇰

Honestly, that translator should make his own videos.
Intelligent, articulate and charismatic, and fully understands how to operate in both cultures.

The gun first seen around 6:45 is a Martini-Henry rifle from the anglo-afgan war. It was produced from 1871 to 1889 before being replaced by the Lee-Metford rifle, the direct predecessor to the famous Lee-Einfield rifle.

I’ve watched many different channels and different YouTubers travel to Afghanistan but I’ve never seen someone so respectful and polite as you are. The people of Afghanistan have gone through many hardships and it’s great that you are empathetic and respectful of the culture . I hope you change the views of many who don’t see Afghanistan as beautiful as you do. Godbless

These people are so wholesome and calm. It's really sad that they have to face a long war.

The translator is very well spoken and respectful. It’s really hard to find such a guide, considering Afghanistan’s current situation.

That "most expensive" gun he showed looked like a Baikal single 12 ga. My first gun, it was my dad's before me and his dad's before him. They're an absolute workhorse. Cool to see them being so valued there.

I love how every time he turns towards the street the amount of people on the crowd just keeps growing.

Afghan people are really good people. Great to see everyone getting along. Too much hate not enough time to relate... these sorts of videos give hope for the future.

You know, for eons, this is how travellers and merchants travelled - with a scribe or translator, exploring and documenting - just without a camera, until there was. It's so archaic as a form - yet now modern. Amazing.

As a farsi speaker I can say that your translator is doing his job extremely well. He's translating very accurately and he's speaking with very good manor and on a high literature level.

I've been to Afghanistan when I was overseas and those people over there are cool as hell. If an Afghani ever offers you rice, don't say no. Those guys make some mean rice. Me being Mexican, I was like this is my family lmao. They make a flat bread similar to tortillas, so I felt right at home. It's a shame that so much is going on over there at the moment. These people are very kind hearted. Their customs remind me of my family in Mexico who live in small villages when it comes to living on the ranch.
