Anyone remember the How to Train Your Dragon tv series? The Screaming Death needs more recognition.

A little trivia about Gabora from Shin Ultraman, when Gabora reappeared in last year's season of Ultraman, Ultraman Omega. They incorporated Shin Gabora's spinning drill frill into its appearance, and the funny part is that when Gabora spins its frill when it's open, it can fly using it.

Shin Ultraman isn't a bad place to start getting into Ultraman, as Hideaki Anno himself was a big fan of the franchise, making Shin Ultraman have all the things that make up an Ultraman Show. I'd recommend Ultraman Blazar if you'd like to start watching a season.

7:08 for me, it was the animated movie Ultraman Rising from 2024

6:10 I absolutely love Gabora too! As an insane kaiju fan, I can actually give a bit more insight into him.

Gabora is actually one of the kaiju from the original Ultraman show and is one of the many monsters built on the Showa Baragon suit, which is a Godzilla monster. The Baragon suit was lent to them by Toho and because they needed a myriad of monsters for their show, the suit was changed many times. Gabora is one of the more unique creatures, as to differentiate it from the others, they gave it the awesome drill face. The actual head underneath the drill has changed a lot, but the basic shape of Gabora has stayed the same throughout its subsequent incarnations. (It has appeared a few more times across different Ultraman shows)

Sidenote: One of my favorite Gabora moments was from a joke episode where instead of using his spinning drill to dig, he opens it up and flies like a helicopter.

So yeah, an incredibly fun monster with some history! (Sorry if I made any mistakes, I’m more of a Godzilla fan than an Ultraman fan😓)

Krampus from Krampus (2015) is underrated too. But save that for November or December.

Love to see how successful this series has been! I have a few more Halloween-specific suggestions.

The VHS series, (notably Ratma, the Stork, the laser-head aliens, etc)

The background characters from Nightmare before Christmas (despite being an iconic movie, a lot of the background characters don't get as much attention for their designs. Also, stop motion is always impressive.)

The werewolves from Van Helsing

6:57 That monster is named Gomess, who originally appeared in the Ultraman series...as literally just Showa Godzilla with a few extra horns added. So now he reappears in a new movie by the makers of Shin Godzilla, and he's... literally just Shin Godzilla with a few extra horns added. It's probably a multi-layered joke that only makes sense if you've seen the original show.

Think another that isn’t talked about enough is the 65 Trex and fasolasuchus they are so unique actually kinda cool

I would love to suggest the Future Predators from Primeval. They should be way more well known. Just like the show.

You should look at some of the creature designs in The Legend of Vox Machina/ The Might Nein both really good news

6:41 That is actually a reference to the original show accept the title that showed up before the actual title was Ultra Q instead of Godzilla which would have been funny It's a fun Easter egg for  fans but I can see why it would be confusing for somebody who has never watched the franchise before

The Relic is a childhood fav of mine. Glad to see it again.

Great video… How about doing some criminally underrated movie robots, like say… I robot, Short circuit, real steel and Pacific Rim.

Yay, glad to see Kothoga in the Video! Ngl, when I first saw it, I nicknamed it the "Yautja-gator"! XD Still, it's an absolute EPIC Monster! I do agree with you about the Dweller in Darkness, that was a Banger of a Monster right there! Both it and the Dragon! Speaking of Gabora, I am surprised you haven't made Multiverse Tales Creatures based off or inspired by the Kaiju in Ultraman!

The Dweller of Darkness from Shang Chi looks like something you see in Magic The Gathering.

Recognized the "dragon" from Outlander; that really felt like a standout horror movie to me at the time

Love these types of videos since I never watch movies but love movie designs

11:19 I never heard of Chun Lee with the 10 rings and it came on Disney+ I thought I was like oh a free movie on streaming I had no idea what this movie was and at the end, I was so shocked how cool of an amazing design that monster is more monsters need more than one color

Not sure if you have this idea in the cards for the spooky season, (or if I already asked for it), but it would be fun if you discussed underrated horror slashers/humanoid villains. A delightfully bizarre example would be DJ aka The Graduate from Most Likely to Die. Definitely a cheesy mess but boy do they have fun with the killer graduation theming 🧑🏼‍🎓 Another could be the Djinn from Wishmaster. Dude is seriously cool and at least his first movie is an under appreciated horror classic imo

Great vid as always Christian!!

If I could throw my hat into under appreciated monsters. The tyrannopede from omniverse is such an awesome creature, a lot of the predators on the show are but that is top tier
