From Charlie Parker to Chet Baker, jazz's golden age produced some of the greatest musicians in American history — and lost an entire generation of them to the same devastating addiction. This documentary counts down ten jazz legends whose careers were derailed, and in several cases ended, by heroin: prison sentences, presidential pardons, prison bands, and comebacks decades in the making.

This is a story about genius and self-destruction walking side by side — about the cost of the music we still celebrate today.
