Cant be both Konstant voltage and Konstant velocity! Confusing tutorial.

TL;DW:
Kv is the "motor _velocity_" constant, it is equal to "motor's unloaded angular velocity" per volt.
kV is kilovolts (1,000 V).

Thanks for the info. Surprising how quite the brushless motor is compared to the brushed.

Good explanatory video!
In electrical engineering we use a motor constant which is related to the inverse of Kv - it measures the number of Volts per Radian per second (V R^-1 s^-1). The Volts is the back EMF generated by the motor, which when free running is appproximately equal to the supply voltage. Interestingly the same constant tells you how much torque you get for a given current. So the Newton-metres per Amp (N m A^-1) is the SAME NUMBER as the V R^-1 s^-1 Wow! is that surprising!?
You can measure this by connecting the motor shaft to your drill and measuring the voltage generated when you spin the motor with no load. Work out the speed in radians per second and you have it!.
The upshot of this is that a motor that generates a lot of torque per amp will have a lower free running speed than the opposite!
The power of small motors goes up as the speed goes up so try to gear your load so the motor runs at close to full speed to get the most power.

I wish hard info channels like this were easier to find

Amazing video - answered a lot of questions I had. You talked about the number of turns as a representation of how fast brushed motors were (back in the day). The wire winds are around the armature instead of the stator. I'm actually amazed that brushed motors are still around considering how superior brushless are.

K is also frequently used to abbreviate Contactors in electrical cabinets.

Thank you so so much for this lesson sir! I just really found this useful. Keep up the good work!

Just what i was looking for. Thanks. Staying for longer.

Thank you for taking the time to explain all of this to us. I really appreciate it.  ❤❤❤

On my Rc helicopter I'll measure the main rotor rpm on stock configuration using laser tachometer and for upgrade I will use the stock stator volume as a base including its kv rating. I use larger stator volume motors for effective torque and proper gearing to keep the larger motor the same rpm on the stock one.

Thanks for explaining this so easily!

That was great.. really enjoyed that video. Thanks

I loved your explanation. Thanks.

thank you, very simple explanation helped me alot!

Great video!!

You guys are my go to battery for all my RC's. Always had good luck with your products and I like that you have weekly sales. Anyway, thank you very much for explaining all this. I'm headed to watch the other video right now.🤙

Thank you explained very well, clear and simple... Here a summary of what you mentioned:
Kv is equal to 100 RPM per volt
Note: Higher Kv losses torque.
Higher Kv motor runs motor faster
Higher Kv heats the motor faster

OUTSTANDING!!!

Great info! Thanks
