When the power of Japanese metal meets iconic classical music, the result is absolutely phenomenal. Today I'm reacting to LOVEBITES performing "Dystopia Symphony" fused with Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" LIVE, on their way to Wacken Open Air 2026.
LOVEBITES is a band that never ceases to amaze me: impeccable technique, a brutal stage presence, and now... they're fusing Beethoven with power metal!

In its entirety - a genuine masterpiece. And the good thing is: These brilliant ladies have plenty of them. Lovebites: a virtuoso band.

IMHO, I believe that the girls should at least be just as big as Nightwish..
I hope this European tour will be a turningpoint.

Miyako, the black-haired guitarist and pianist and the main composer of Lovebites music, has described heavy metal as 'classical music with electricity' and in an interview she said “classical music is metal music before the invention of electricity” ....... so Beethoven and Lovebites go hand to hand perfectly ...... 😉

Thank you for the wonderful video. Guitarist MIYAKO has been studying classical piano since she was three years old, and even now she holds solo recitals, is a master guitarist, and composes most of her own music—she is truly a "goddess of music" and a genius. Singer ASAMI has been studying classical ballet since she was three years old, so please pay attention to her graceful movements on stage. she even plays the piano in this video. Along with the other members, everyone possesses outstanding musical technique and sensibility—they are truly world-class. Please enjoy the performance.

Another masterpiece that nourishes the soul and feeds the heart and is done LIVE by a band that knows no boundaries. Miyako's savant brain and her bandmates insane talent yields another classic many thought couldn't be played LIVE.

LOVEBITES - Dystopia Symphony lyrics & credits:
Like it's an end of world
Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
It's almost right behind me
The shade of moon above, wandering high in sky
Following everywhere in a silence
The shower of the light melting into the sleeping deep night
Lost in maze, it's all I hear now
Echo in my mind from far away
Wish to hold it in my heart to feel the love
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
Breaking through tragedy, somewhere
There is much more to see beyond
I stand to face bravely
God, Heavenly light
Shining in deep beneath
Bringing a life to crystal bloom
Heavenly bless
Lay me in peace with this melody
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
Like it's an end of world
Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
It's almost right behind me
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
Breaking through tragedy, somewhere

[The following is from an interview for the Japanese edition of LOVEBITES magazine]
👑🎤Asami👑: "Dystopia Symphony" was based on Beethoven's "Pathetique," and we built the song into a suite-like piece from there.
💚🎸Midori💚: This is probably the first time we've done something this heavily focused on progressive rock.😈
P.S.
The synchronized playing of M(Midori)&M(Miyako) in the solo guitar section clearly indicates that it is based on the "Pathétique."
And furthermore, the third movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata is performed on the piano by Miyako—appearing both during the intro, where she plays while resting the guitar on her lap, and later, following the dissolution of her piano duo with Asami.
