Is the MBA worth it in 2026?
Everywhere you look, someone is declaring the MBA dead: economists say the era of the MBA advantage is over, tech leaders dismiss degrees, and now AI is supposedly automating everything business school teaches.
In this video I explain why that entire argument misses the point of what the MBA actually provides.
I'm Caitlin, an Oxford MBA, and I've spent the last eight years helping applicants get into top business and finance programs around the world.
Here's the truth business schools don't print on the brochure: the education was never the primary value of the MBA. The real product is the network, the access to bright minds across industries, the funding, the experiences, and the brand name. You could learn the business knowledge on Coursera a decade ago. That's not what people are paying for, and it never was.
I'll also share exactly why I chose Oxford (it had very little to do with the classroom), why MBA classrooms full of experienced professionals don't match the "AI will automate their jobs" story, and the honest cases where the MBA is genuinely NOT worth your money in 2026.
