For some reason Joe and Tina's father and daughter relationship reminded me of Den and Sharon's father and daughter relationship in eastenders for some reason. Den came back from the dead and if Tina hadn't have got killed they might have bought Joe back from the dead too and made a crazy storyline.

Do you think you should do the exact opposite of what you were thinking and see if that works any better.
