we shouldn't be asking 'can it run crysis', we should be asking 'can it run nuts 3'.

I think the massive lag you get in non-invulnerability mode might be because of GZDoom's dynamic lights feature; it makes it so fireballs and rockets illuminate the environment. In invulnerability mode, the lighting is forced to fullbright, so the lighting calculations do nothing.

Massive props to the Civvie reference, though.

crowdsurfing is actually a GZDoom thing, in classic engine settings monster's collision is infinitely tall

DOOM is more eternal than the game titled that due to the sheer amount of wads

The idea of calling a group of revenants  “the bone zone” is the funniest fucking thing to me

i love that "basically the same crap" and "hack your way to victory, doom geek" were strategically placed in nuts 2 to fucking condition you into falling for its tricks. it was made 20 years ago and i still think about it sometimes.

4:33 Oh nice, a Civvie reference. Subsequently followed by "funny joke Yoda" voice. That's peak Grayfruit for ya.

I made a fireblu hoodie, can verify pics if wanted.
As a major doom fan im also smiling at the frankenwad, a great way to spend a sick day is to download every mod you can and mix em.

That whole end section where Grayfruit was "corrupting" the game was simultaneously hilarious and really interesting.

Fruit Man learns live he can mix WADs together, goes through a downward spiral of WADs and graphics more hellish than in actual DOOM WADs.

It is always really heartwarming when you can tell Grayfruit played a game, LOVED it, and then becomes super into it, triple so for this because I've been playing Doom for literally longer than I can remember and grayfruit playing catch-up and introducing some of his younger fans that haven't played Doom is cool as hell.

the nuts 2 japes were incredible live, it was amazing watching Greyfruit lose the ability to trust

4:04 I love that the noise that Gray makes kinda matches the expression on Doom Guy's face on the HUD

4:35
A civvie reference in a grayfruit video is actually just awesome

This heavily reminds me of those old sonic games where you could stack the cartridges on top of each other to alter the gameplay. This sounds like insanity when I read it back but it's a real thing I swear.

29:22 Cool to see count chocula get his own game after the success of chex quest

34:43 Those are ZDoom Marines, enemies (or allies depending on the level designer) that use the player's weapons. (well, at least the vanilla ones)

8:23 No you could not. To save time on physics calculations, OG Doom(the DOS executable) considered all monsters to be infinitely tall when dealing with collision, meaning that if the player was on a ledge and ran into one, even if the player was ten thousand miles above the demon the game would treat it as if both the monster and the player had the same y-value, and the player would stop dead in their tracks. This is incredibly annoying, though, so GZDoom disables that feature by default.

29:21 Doomguy being turned into a weird fusion of Marvel’s Colossus and André the Giant is sending me

The way the original doom is coded monsters hit boxes are infinitely high, so sadly no, it's a gzdoom moment
