JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - The National Police's Narcotics Crime Directorate has uncovered alleged drug trafficking at a hotel and nightclub in the Grogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta.

The location is suspected of having long been a location for narcotics transactions, including ecstasy and the vape drug etomidate.

KompasTV journalist Dipo Nurbahagia investigated the location with police. Police tape was still in place around the nightclub. Police stated that the investigation into the suspects is ongoing.

Complaints Commissioner Drago, an investigator at the National Police's Narcotics Crime Directorate, stated that 14 suspects are currently undergoing questioning.

He stated that an investigation warrant has been issued, and three suspects are still being sought.

Police also revealed that the alleged drug trafficking at the location has been going on for quite some time. The suspicion arose during a raid that coincided with the hotel's 12th anniversary.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Tohar, an investigator at the National Police's Narcotics Crimes Directorate, revealed that there is a screening system for visitors before they can obtain drugs at night entertainment venues.

According to him, first-time visitors have a hard time obtaining these illicit goods. Police Commissioner Tohar explained that the assessment process is carried out by certain individuals who are familiar with the visitors.

During the operation, police discovered suspected drug transactions in three karaoke rooms: B12, B15, and B02, out of a total of more than 30 rooms at the venue.

Police then investigated the situation after discovering drug transactions in one of the rooms.
