Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?

He never freaked out. He handled it as sanely as possible.

I've just noticed that the car Truman is driving doesn't have headrests on the chairs, to allow the cameras recording a better view 😂.

I love how the title says “Jim Carrey” as if we’re watching a documentary of a famous actor having a mental breakdown

The movie was a psychological horror disguised as a comedy.

gotta give it to the wife, she never broke character

“You hate to gamble!”
“That’s right I do, don’t I?”
Not sure why but I love that exchange. It’s like he’s realising even that aspect of his personality was decided by someone else.

For a few seconds, just a few seconds, “Meryl” shared a genuine moment with Truman,  right after they got over the bridge.

A very important quote from the movie that changed the way i see things, 'We accept the reality of the world with which we're presented'

Imagine if Truman wasn’t actually trapped and was genuinely losing his marbles for no reason 😭

1:35 If you never got why Truman looks confused like that. It's because he never mentioned going to Fiji to her - only the idea of bumming around the world. Only we, as the audience got to see him go to the travel agents... So the question in his mind is, how does she know about that... his secret. That's the point of his confusion.

“If you want to destroy yourself, do it on your own” “ I’d like a little company” idk why but that resonates with me

2:10 The way she looks back at the camera

The thing is that if they were filming him 24/7, the moment he tells his wife his predictions should have been enough for the producers to make some adjustments and prevent at least one of those three people (girl on bicycle, man with flowers or man driving a volskwagen) from crossing that intersection and replace them with some other random pedestrians or drivers.

I wonder how many people realize this movie is about gaslighting someone, and the damage it does to the victim?

Kudos to Laura Linney for portraying such an hateful character.

“Blocked at every turn. Beautifully synchronized, don’t you agree?”
“You’re blaming me for the traffic?”
”Should I?”

I don’t know why, but that exchange was kind of chilling for me. Maybe it’s because Truman’s starting to get self aware about what’s really going on and is telling the system to F off in a sort of passive way. Or maybe he just wants to get back at Meryl who he knows she doesn’t love him. Either way brilliant acting from Jim nonetheless.

He didn’t freak out, it’s called awareness.

" Early bird gathers no moss, rolling stone catches the worm". 😂 It's perfect.

That “should I” was so telling. Jim Carey is a fantastic actor. He doesn’t get enough recognition for his intelligence and gets written off as weird far too often. Great critical thinker. He’s what Hollywood is supposed to be. Eccentric and weird, not egocentric and insufferable.
