Lin waving Kobe off before draining the 3 will forever live rent free in my head

Kobe after mentally tormenting Jeremy Lin in practice : "he just needs to relax 🤷‍♂"

Jeremy Lin is a classy guy. I’m glad he was able to rise above being bullied.

We all credit Kobe for having a tough and aggressive mentality, unfortunately it was a double edged sword. You can’t be an asshole and then be like “relax…”

2 things.
1. The foul incident, Byron Scott came out saying he told Lin not to foul and Lin was just listening to the coach.
2. They celebrated and simply enjoying a win as a team without Kobe there.  The team was happier and played better without Kobe.

Kobe knew he could step over that line with Jeremy. It wasn't shit talking, it was straight animosity.

now i see why nobody wanted to play with kobe at the end of his career

The problem with all of Kobe's yapping was that he was out there shooting 35% and was a shell of himself. It's hard to take all that verbal abuse when the performance doesn't back up the talk. Kobe was done.

Lin was a Harvard graduate. It was surprising to me that he pursued a career in the NBA. However, he had to face disdain because he was Asian. It was clear when he played for the Knicks. The “stars” on those teams could not fathom the attention Lin generated when he played really well. And Kobe had to be It, which is why the Lakers lost during the latter years of his career. A great player has to elevate the players around him like a symphony conductor; otherwise, players lose their confidence. Kobe thought he was being like Jordan. No. Jordan had people around him. Sad. I take my hat off to Lin. He did a hell of a job against the odds.

Coach Byron Scott admitted his mistake in telling Jeremy not to foul, that’s why Lin was confused because he knew he should foul but the coach was telling him not to

Kobe was toxic and disrespectful. Acting like that at 35 years old is laughable

10:44 Lin have my respect here. Stood up for himself yet Kobe still acted like a drama queen and not speak to him for 4 months.

Kobe always wanted revenge for that 38 point game. Kobe took Jeremy's confidence..

Kobe always portrayed himself as an intellectual. He said he would’ve gone to Duke had he gone to college, and based on the way he would talk and portray himself, it was clear he liked to play on a “sophisticated, intelligent” persona. I remember in the early days on twitter when he would brag about learning Beethoven songs by ear (that’s why Moonlight in Sonata was played in his ceremony). It worked for him too because in the NBA world, even knowing a Beethoven song and using some big words makes you come off as smart.

To be real, I think he felt a little threatened by Lin’s intelligence. When he said “sometimes people are just too smart and gotta calm down” about Lin, I thought that was telling. Lin was graduated from Harvard, and everyone knew him to be a smart person. Seeing as how competitive Kobe is about everything, I think he felt a little threatened by no longer being the smartest person in the lockerroom.

we all wanna idolize kobe, but really most of us would have despised being around him. respected him but despised him.

Kobe was a great player but could have improved his leadership experience towards his teammates.  I'm siding with Lin because all the interviews and gameplay footage shows how Kobe was all about himself. I get players get frustrated in the moment but if you dont have self control and intelligence to make players around you better, that's not a leader. Don't care how many trophies he's won.

Coach and sideline was saying don’t foul..smh

Kobe was intimidated by Lin's intelligence.

When someone like Kobe found out he just can’t rule the game, he won’t accept that and he chose to lash it out on the most humble guy. That’s all.
