After seeing our recent video on transforming a Colt Python to a stainless finish, a viewer wanted the same treatment on his old S&W .38 special.
His revolver was definetly used over the years, so we gave him a full cleaning, polish, glass bead, and more to make his revolver look brand new

I used to manufacture dental prosthetics for years. I found two things you could try that might make your polishing much faster. One a tightly woven muslin or rag wheel and wet flour pumice. It should bring out the waviness really fast. The other technique was a Leather wheel that looked alot like a rag wheel but made out of chamois. Also polishing the cylinder on a jig or lathe will stop any patterning you get in your polishing efforts. Not trying to be a know it all just polished dental prosthetics for over 20 years. You might even like the abbot robinson lathe brushes they are incredible!

Tremendous work. Thank you for sharing these videos. I notice you have rifle stocks on the wall back there. It would be nice to see the restoration/rebluing of a rifle or a shotgun. Imagine a Winchester model 70, type 99 Arisaka or a British number 5 Jungle Carbine being stripped and refinished, that would be epic.

Wow this came out beautiful! I have a model 65-3 with the 3 inch barrel and man this would look perfect on it. I do carry it often so maybe someday when I don't carry it as much.

Have you considered an ultra sonic cleaner? Most of the disassembled parts can be put in the cleaner and will save a ton of time and labor cleaning. You could then focus on polishing.
