Challenging Mature Buck Behavior w/Dan Infalt | Whitetail Research Podcast Ep. 1

Whitetail Research

Welcome to the first Whitetail Research Podcast episode.

I’m not a podcaster by trade; I research whitetail deer. But over the past few years, I realized something powerful: I’ve built a unique body of research through thermal drone observation, mapping, and countless hours in the field that deserves to be challenged, tested, and compared against some of the best bowhunters in the world.

That’s why I created the Whitetail Research Podcast.

This podcast is built for hunters who want to understand deer, not just hunt them.

Had a shooter come in at sunrise this fall and he caught me drawing back, blew and bolted out of there. Good rut funnel so I went back the next morning but moved up the trail 30 yards. Same buck comes in again. Stops about 50 yards from the tree I had been in the day before and stared at it on full alert for a good minute then decided it still wasn’t safe and cut left to circle downwind of it. Lucky I moved, gave me a 12 yard shot and drilled him. Shocked he came back at all

Ive watched deer bed in the river on 90 degree days with the water at the top of their backs. Im on a job site right now building a deck on a lake property home here in Northern Wisconsin and I've been watching deer 50 out into the shallow waters grazing on lillypads all day long.Ive never seen this before and it is truly one of the coolest things I've ever seen with Whitetails......

I love this show. You’re a scientist in camouflage. And a drone geek. And I don’t mean that in a bad way.

My friend I’ve studied, managed, and hunted whitetail for 45 years. You’re doing an excellent job, and teaching young hunters what would take them decades in the field. Great Job

Good podcast! In my opinion the one thing that really sets apart the best of the best whitetail hunters is that they seem to have a knack for knowing what a deer is thinking. It's something I'm always trying to learn more about or understand better. You're doing a fantastic job, keep it up!! And thanks.

Great pick for your first podcast! 👏

I really enjoyed the compare and contrast of what could be described as Operant Conditioning from public land pressure vs private land pressure on deer bedding habits. I can relate it much to Bass Fishing on public and private waters in a sense.

Good to see you guys team up. Both dedicated to making predictions/theories and learning by real world observation - just using different methods. It's cool to hear you both learn from eachother.

Ben a fan since your original drone video drop. It's cool to learn new stuff and be reaffirmed that I wasn't crazy all those years on a few things people said wasn't right. Gonna enjoy this ride until the wheels come off, you do the same man. Keep up the good work and what a great guest from my back yard in wisconsin.
