A new brain imaging study sorted 446 kids into three ADHD types using their wiring alone. No symptoms, no checklists, no questionnaires. Three groups fell out, and the largest and most severe one was not defined by attention or hyperactivity at all. It was defined by emotional dysregulation, the one feature that is not in the DSM criteria.

In this video I walk through all three brain types, what the scans actually showed in each one, and why emotional dysregulation is the reason so many people spend years being treated for anxiety or depression instead of ADHD.

I also cover the limitations, because one study is never enough to diagnose anyone. This is about patterns, not a brain scan you can go get to find out your type.

If you have ever been told you feel too much, or that ADHD could not be your problem because you are not hyperactive, this one is for you.
