Hey! I'm Alanna - a thirty-something documenting my life as a Canadian living in England.

As an Englishman - it takes a Canadian to point out what I take for granted. Great video. Plugs are safer in the UK too.

Whenever we come back from holiday, we always say "it's good to be back home", regardless how enjoyable the holiday was.

Having returned to Europe after living in the USA for 18 years , your 'misses' are definitely in line with my experience and fresh good fruit plus morning cereals naturally with just 1% sugar and no added sugar . no high fructose syrup. Even my peanut butter here in Portugal is 100% peanuts - nothing added!

I visited lincoln for the first time recently. It really knocked me over how beautiful the city centre was. The gigantic cathedral. The imposing castle. Magna Cartna document. The independent shops. The vibrant culture. I felt glad to be English.

I am an American expat living in England , I totally agree with everything you say . The quality of life is better in UK , the food ,safety health care (free !) , public transport.

I lived in France for 20 years and didn't make many trips back to the UK. Now I have moved back to the UK and do notice a lot of differences, so what you said really resonated with me. I also used to live somewhere very rural (read isolated), so really love that now I can walk to shops, vet, doctor etc. I even have neighbours and I really love that.

So true about how old England is. Even my own humble village / town is in the Domesday Book in the 1086 and all our roads are Roman.

Alanna ! I don't think you know how much you are Liked in Britain , The Lovely little Canadian Lass ,Who tells it how it is, Doesn't stroke British ego to much, and gets out and about and shows the true part of Britain you live and travel in .
