Why you suck at Hunter skating.

A short video explaining how to consistently do a Shatterdive skate using Eager Edge without the help of macros. Which is also applicable to Well of Radiance skating using Eager Edge.

I know a lot of people will think that this technique is similar to worldline shatter skating. However it's a tiny bit different since Eager Edge is faster and does not remove your player model from the game which I will not explain why it makes a difference.

Seeing as how many casualties we’ve caused to ourselves with this weapon, I’m disappointed they didn’t build in a unique Halo death sound.

On controller, I changed my shatter dive keybind to circle (I’m on PS5), and I just press all three buttons (jump, shatterdive, and heavy attack) at the same time, and it works very consistently.

bro you make the best content, short and simple and I only have been able to do this because you just explained it more simple compared to everyone else, goated

Gawd damn it - THIS WAS IT! The KEY to this was pressing the JUMP + DIVE right after WHILE THE charater is STILL IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND - So longer runway = more time, shorter ledge = faster execution. Now that I can do it - I can't stop doing it now . Thak you!

This is the only tutorial video on shatter dive to show what doing it wrong is and why. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

If anyone is struggling with the timing, it's like a quick 1,2,3. By that I mean saying, "one, two, three" slightly quickly and evenly paced. I've had 0 consistency problems since employing this strategy. GL

This completely cleared up the problem I kept having (which you highlighted in this video) and now it has been immediately corrected. Thank you so much!

This video was so helpful - I realized it’s more consistent but the only down side is the sword ammo usage - cause I realized the way I use to do it before I had my pc was all at once (on console) - but now that I’m on pc it makes so much sense to have more room instead of being on edge - and then that lead me to understand AOE on the dive from standstill on edge vs giving room - super cool and thank you!!!

Thank you for explaining how to do this. Every other video over complicates it so much. It's so much easier than I thought. After watching this I pulled it of on my 2nd try. I'm now on my 6th try and I think i've mastered it.

Also on controller switch heavy attack with light attack so from RT to RB. it's easier. And change shadowdive to press only not long press or double. YES THIS WORKS ON CONSOLE.

I used to worldline skate w/shatter dive, but didn't know you could also do it w/eager edge- very cool!

@thundercookie1741 4 years ago

thank you so much for explaining it so easy and quickly, and not making this (and many other videos) long and just, filled with noting useful, you are amazing my friend!
though i did find just folding my thumb in tends to help me do ShatterSkate with much higher success rate too!

Heavy Attack > Jump > Shatterdive .

Man that tip about the ledge is what finally made this all click. Am now consistently skating everywhere.

@skip6562 4 years ago

The one time when using a controller makes movement easier lol. You just press all three at the same time, no timing required.

As soon as I watched this video I went from hitting 0% of my skates to 95% tysm

Thank you, I was having the issue of jumping straight down because everyone kept saying close to the edge as possible but as soon as I went back a little ways to allow the sword swing animation then jumped it worked perfect
