Thanks for putting all of these together in one place. What I love are all of these extreme heat environments aren’t just about temperature, they’re about how energy is being constrained and released. A star holds energy in for millions of years and then releases it through fusion, a supernova releases it almost all at once, and something like a volcano is that same idea on a much smaller scale. It almost feels like heat is less a thing by itself and more a signal of how energy is moving through a system. Curious if you think heat is better thought of as a property or more as a process.
I love the narration of both Erik Todd Dellums and Mike Rowe, so it's cool seeing these compilations. I own the whole series on Prime Video, but can't comment there, lol!
Nothing was really said here of the supernova of 1987. That was supernova 1987a in the Large Magellanic Cloud which was catalogued by a man whose name was Sanduleak, linking his name to the supernova. I remember going out into the backyard in Australia, to watch it night after night, and see it change colour and particularly brightness over many nights. I remember it being a bright red. I stopped following it as it dimmed. It did, however, keep the professionals studying it for something like 30 years according to the info online.
I have a nice leather jacket from Schott called the Delivery Jacket. It’s so thick and heavy that it throws off my gait. I wear it three times a year and it breaks my heart 😁
