Walking out of the theater for this movie was the quietest I've ever seen a group of people that large.

Wit: "I think that I'm ready for this."

Illidan: "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!!!"

"I think that I am mentally ready for this"

Thanos: "You may test that hypothesis at your convenience"😂😂

Imagine seeing this movie on opening night, with no spoilers of any kind, and then having to wait an entire year for Endgame to come out.

I saw this with my mom in the theater when it came out and it was an experience, man. Especially at the end. The whole theater dead silent except for people crying or trying not to cry. Can't wait to see you finish up this phase of the MCU

16:15 - "Does he only have Steve's number?"

That's the burner phone Steve left for Tony at the end of Civil War.. so his number was the only one programmed.

It was great having 2 Sherlocks trading insults.

This was a theatrical experience like no other. Even as a fan of the comics who strongly suspected for a long time this is how the movie would end (Infinity Gauntlet, on which this movie is partially based, is where the snap comes from), it was unreal how effective this movie was. The snap in the comics just resulted in half the people in the universe vanishing in an instant, as if they never existed. This version, with people slowly dissolving into ash and fully aware of what was happening, was brilliantly horrifying. People left the movie silent and in shock.

By putting him in the role of the protagonist and actually letting him win, this film all but single-handedly turned Thanos from a notable but definitely niche comic book villain into one of the most recognized villains in entertainment history. Even though they changed his motives from the comics, I can't complain because they got the deeper psychology right. Thanos is a narcissistic, paternalistic zealot, who is completely convinced that the universe revolves around him. He sees things in zero sum terms, and sees sacrifice (meaning the sacrifice of things and other people) as inherently noble. In the comics, he's in love with the personification of Death; in the film, he's only capable of thinking in terms of death. (Side note: my pet theory is that the child Gamora he sees in the vision is Death asking her devoted servant what he sacrificed for her.) He's infuriatingly wrongheaded, of course, but believably so because he is surrounded by sycophants who tell him he is right, and he is too powerful for the universe to effectively push back and actually show him that he's wrong. It makes him terrifyingly realistic.

The heartbreaking “ I don’t wanna go, I don’t wanna go” that we hear from Peter will always get to me.   It’s at that moment we realize that he’s just a kid.  He’s scared and who can blame him.   Fear of the unknown.  And then he apologizes to Tony.   That breaks Tony’s heart.

47:40 - Funny thing is that raccoons are native to North America, so he probably wouldn't have seen one before.  Even in the first Thor, he was in an area where they aren't particularly common.

9:36 Two Sherlocks arguing

I’ve never left such a dead silent theater!

The reason why peter seemed like he knew it was gonna happen is because his spider sense gives him slight precognition, so he could feel it before it actually happened

The axe has a vibranium tongue. It's made of Uru metal, which is blessed with runic magic, so it recognizes its owner. It's actually alive.

This was incredible in cinema 🙌

Wise man once said, 'all we are is dust in the wind..."

The flip phone had one number because it was the phone Steve sent Tony at the end of Civil War

7:36 It was a retcon. Basically in an earlier Thor movie they showed the infinity gauntlet in Odin’s treasury as a sort of Easter egg. It doesn’t make sense for it to be there since the whole story hadn’t played out yet however, so they threw in Hela’s line about it being a ‘fake’.

I love that they cast Peter Dinklage as Eitri the Dwarf and he's bloody huge.

Thor covered in lightning holding Stormbreaker and yelling "Bring me Thanos!" is an incredible moment.
