In this video I showcase the Project Falcon Optics Talon scope that works in conjunction with Project Falcon Precision ammo (and other factory loadings) that allow you to not hold over in MRAD or MOA, but rather the reticle has the yardage for your particular ballistics. They call it D.O.P.E.LESS. I showcase it shoot from 100 to 1,000 yards, then I change to some other factory ammo load and walk it back from 1,000 to 100 yards. Hey folks! One clarification we’d like to make as Brandon specified about the Talon: the D.O.P.E.LESS system is an additional way to use the optic, not the only way.
You can still use the Talon like a traditional precision scope—zero normally, dial elevation on the turret, use the center of the reticle, and make precision corrections just as you would with a conventional MRAD optic. The difference is that the reticle also gives you calibrated holdovers for faster known-distance engagements when you don’t want or need to dial.
Think of it as two modes in one optic:
Hold when speed matters.
Dial when precision matters.
The only thing the Talon does not use is a traditional Christmas-tree style elevation grid. The intent was never to eliminate dialing—it was to give the shooter another option.

The Project Falcon that I shot after filming on EP42 was amazingly precise. Hit the 10inch no problem. Held the 5mph at 1000 yrds on the reticle and that was it!

Shepherd did this decades ago, you ordered the reticle that most closely matched your ballistics, and whichever circle fit the deer, you shot it with. Each circle was 18" at its respective distance.

This is absolutely amazing. I just finished an 18” 6ARC, and I’ve got a Vortex 5-25 on it, and it’s moved my 6.5CM down the bench. I’ll definitely be looking at one of these optics.

As stated before love your channel and your mom(more mom please)!! You do realize that this concept is 40+ years old. I 56 when I was 14 I had some scope that was the same thing minus the #'s. It was, as this is, set up for a specific speed and bc numbers. If your load fell into its parameters it was on at the different lines in the scope. That was 42 years ago. I have no idea how long it was out before then.

I think companies trying to be creative like this are interesting. It seems to me like any other BDC with a couple of added benefits. The big thing for me is I’m trying to figure out how it would make my life any easier than just using my dope. But maybe hunters would like it most?

For anything past medium distances, temperature will have a huge effect on the viability of set holds.

i’m more interested in the bravo 6t bdx style system. i’d love to see a review on that

There is no perfect ballistic reticle you can etch in a scope- optic height over bore will cause variance, temperature, elevation, humidity, barrels of same length will have variance in avg FPS- these things matter once you get to a meaningful distance.    BDC reticles have a use case in lpvo scopes but on the fence if it is an optimal solution for higher powered scopes

This might be useful for a simple hunting setup, or casual shooter. It will be inherently less precise than using hard dope developed from calculators/weather meters.
For rapid engagements, speed drop already accomplishes this though, and is scalable to different loads, calibers, environments, etc. Skills with a standardized platform beats specialization.

For long range shooting. How about, 1 bullet, 1 MV range +- Temp variation and digital reticle that would calibrate for DA or Temp/at-site, non-corrected Pressure?
Or how about a modernized small-form successor of Eliminator 6?? Aim, laze, shoot.
