Clogged toilet and nothing helps? In this video, I show you how to deal with a sewer leak – from trying to unclog it with a spring to completely replacing the old cast iron pipe with plastic. See what's hidden inside a 40-year-old pipe and how to repair your drain yourself, step by step.
• Diagnostics and unclogging tests: Using an inspection camera, a sewer spring (11 mm), and a pressure washer.
• Cross-section of the old cast iron pipe and hard chemical deposits that no spring can remove.
• Installation replacement: Removing the cast iron and installing orange (PVC) pipes, which are more resistant to soil pressure than standard gray pipes.
• Base plate installation: Installing an inspection chamber base, which will provide easy access to the pipes in the future.
• Practical plumbing tips: How to calculate the ideal pipe slope, why use two 45° bends instead of one 90° bend, and how to backfill and encase the pipes in concrete.
