Four Cases Associated with Denny Indrayana

1. The Ministry of Law and Human Rights Payment Gateway Case (2015) – A Blemish on Integrity

While serving as Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, Denny was implicated in allegations of corruption in an online passport payment system project (payment gateway). The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) even named him a suspect.

Although the case did not go to trial, it marked the biggest black mark on his career. This contradiction arises because Denny has long been known as an academic who has been a vocal advocate for the anti-corruption movement.

2. Report Against Chief Justice Anwar Usman (2023-2024) – Conflict of Interest in Decision 90

Denny was one of the most active parties in reporting Chief Justice Anwar Usman regarding Decision 90/PUU-XXI/2023, which changed the minimum age requirements for presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

He considered there to be a clear conflict of interest because Anwar Usman is the uncle of Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The report yielded results, with the Constitutional Court's Ethics Council (MKMK) imposing sanctions and declaring Anwar Usman guilty of serious ethical violations.

However, Denny's formal review lawsuit against the decision was rejected by the Constitutional Court in January 2024.
