#Skyride is an iconic, 1048-metre-long gondola lift system that serves as a vital transportation link and a scenic family attraction at the #AltonTowers Resort. Reaching heights of up to 200 feet (61 metres), it saves guests a massive amount of walking (roughly 4,000 steps) by floating directly over the estate's spectacular historic gardens, valleys, and major rollercoasters. After a lengthy closure for a multi-million-pound refurbishment by manufacturer POMA, the ride reopened to the public in May 2025 and June 2026 with refreshed branding and updated, highly accessible #gondola cabins.

🚠 Route & Station Locations

The Skyride features three distinct stations spread across the theme park, with individual transit legs taking roughly 5 minutes each:

Towers Street Station: Located near the main park entrance along the path toward Mutiny Bay. Boarding here takes you right over the Wicker Man wooden rollercoaster and the estate lakes.

Forbidden Valley Station (Main Drive): Positioned at the entry pathway to the Forbidden Valley. This section offers stunning, tranquil views directly across the tree lines of the valley gardens.

Fountain Square Station (Dark Forest): Situated right between the Dark Forest (near the Rita launch track) and the historic Towers ruins, giving a quick connection to the back areas of the park.
