Before dawn on the Orikhiv front, a Russian armored assault blasts its own path through a Ukrainian minefield — and rolls straight onto ground Ukraine picked for it.
Why let an armored column through the one gap it cut, and what were the drones really flying at?

Orikhiv is one of the gateways to Zaporizhzhia, and Ukrainian officials have said Russia massed very large forces around it. Russian mechanized assaults on this sector keep breaking against drones, artillery and minefields — including an armored push near Mala Tokmachka, east of the town, that Ukraine's 17th Army Corps reported repelling. Ukraine's 65th Brigade says most of its work on this front is now done by unmanned systems, and heavy Vampire hexacopters have been used to lay anti-tank mines behind Russian lines, usually at night.

This video follows how a Russian armored assault can come apart at a single point: the lane its own engineers clear through the minefield. It walks through the UR-77 mine-clearing spearhead, an R-330Zh Zhitel jamming bubble and Strela-10M3 air defense at the gap — and the different trick used against each one.
Analytical reconstruction of a Russian armored assault on the Orikhiv front, built from public reporting on how this sector is fought; the specific timeline, vehicle counts, drone actions and crew decisions are dramatized and not drawn from a single confirmed engagement.

💬 If you commanded that column, would you have sent the second wave through the gap — or held it back?
