Are you looking for a fast lens? A manual lens? A weather resistant lens? While there are so many different options out there, I wanted to outline in this video some of the options for compact lenses for Fujifilm X Mount - for those who want to get out there and have that perfect every day carry setup.

Another great lens is the Fujifilm 50mm f/2 R WR to complete the f/2 family. When I returned to Fuji after being away for a few years I immediately picked up the 16/2.8, 23/2.0, 35/2.0, 50/2.0, and then the 27/2.8 pancake. Plan to use these on my X-T5 and X-E5. Thank you and take care.

Check out the manual pancake lenses from voightlander:
18mm f2.8 color skopar
27mm f2 ultron

Fits brilliantly with the xe series

Check out the SG 25mm 1.8. Square hood included. Cheap, very sharp.

Thank you for your consideractions about Fujifillm and other X-mount lenses. For AF lenses let's not forget that (most probably) none of these Chinese brands have been able to implement the complete and comprehensive Fuji X lens protocol. That should include the lens correction profile. That's the reason why some of their more compact lenses show vignette in the in-body rendered jpg's, or why they don't build zoom lenses because those would show distortion (when equally sharp to others). Zeiss (Touit), Sigma, Tamron and Tokina are ok with this.

Just got myself an SG-Image 25mm F1.8 AF such a cheap and compact lens and not much people know about it. f1.8 at that size and prize is insane. might want to check it out though not the sharpest, but you could attribute it to a 'vintage character' with the swirly background aswell.

When I had a Fuji I basically never took off the 23mm f2, it was so good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with a Fuji

I'm with you on those pancakes should be f2 lenses. Id pay a premium for that . the crons are solid but although small still not compact.

Have you tried the ttartisan 35mm f/1.4? I heard it has a much better image quality than the 7artisans one

already got the fuji 23mm f1.4 II and TT artisan 27mm f2.8, do you think it is worth upgrading the TT artisan 27mm f2.8 to fuji’s 23mm f2.8, for a casual dates portraits/daily life record.

I wish the fuji oancaje lenses were a bit cheaper. Such a small lens for more than 400 euros is just too much, in my opinion. I went for the tt artisan 25f2, and I would honestly prefer the fuji 27f2 but too expansive for this kind of lens imo.

Thanks for this review. I know they are manual but the voigtlander 18 and 27 are super compact and have extremely good image quality. Even if manual, the 18 with an aperture of 5.6 to 8 (which I use for street photography) has everything in focus. Regarding the trio 23-35 and 50, I have the 23 and 50. The 50 has impecable image quality. The 23 does not. The lens in the Fujifilm x100vi is so much better.
