Uncle Albert was not just Del and Rodney's Uncle, he was the Uncle Albert of everyone in the UK.

"Hardly overseas?" "You aught to try walking it pal." Brilliant comeback from Albert.

Buster Merrifield was actually very well spoken. He was a bank manager in his life before OFAH.

My favourite one is from "Jolly Boy's Outing" if I'm remembering it correctly - "Durin' the war it was once so cold that the flame on my lighter froze"

'do you remember suffering from amnesia?'

'i cant remember'

@edwardmeyer5473 6 years ago

"Have you ever suffered with Amnesia before?"

"I can't remember." 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Him and the German girl in the pub: "Vot is your name!" That one cracks me up.

I remember telling someone once my grandfather was born during WW1, my dad was born during WW2 and I was born during Falklands War, without missing a beat he said "So if we want peace we better pray your missus keeps her legs closed."

Seems like the sort of thing Del would say!

Buster Merryfield was a lovely gentleman when I met him briefly in Summer 1995. He holidayed in Weymouth and I was lucky enough to bring drinks to his table. Ever so nicely spoken.
Rest in Peace, sir.
