Rest in peace, Ian and Dogmeat.
Whenever I think Fallout 1, I think of long dark hair, a leather jacket with jeans and a hound as loyal as anything.

I like how the Vault Dweller made it clear that Dogmeat Adopted him. Not the other way around.

“I miss Dogmeat to this day”
I’m not crying you’re crying

Meanwhile in Boston codsworth is still trimming the bushes.

No, no, no. My vault dweller had an intelligence of one and his Memoir was written on a table cloth in crayon. “Me shave valt.”

5:07 "A town full of traders and traitors."

Thats some good writing there

How to be an Unstoppable Force
1) Have a mission
2) Have a goal
3) Have a really large gun

I don't know why but that part made me laugh.

The Vault Dweller's descendants don't speak of ghouls very well, considering how he wrote about the people of Necropolis being friends of his.

The Vault Dweller's Memoirs were in the manual that came with Fallout 2 as well, at least in the European release.

"Imagine the worst thing possible. Atomic bombs were worse than that."

Remembers the Emoji movie. Are you sure?

The fact that even in his dying age the Vault Dweller misses Dogmeat, and the fact that canonically Dogmeat died by a laser door in Mariposa, meaning the Dweller helplessly watched Dogmeat run though it because he was too colorblind to see it, and still had to push on with his mission. It's just heartbreaking man

There was actually and add for the GECK in the Fallout 1 manual. And the Fallout 1 manual was titled Vault Dwellers survival guide.. Pretty cool.

wow, the folks who left vault 13 devolved into primitive tribal so quickly

It didn't take them very long to become superstitious and xenophobic, did it? You can see the transition from the first generation of his children to the later ones that revere his work like the Brotherhood does Maxson's.

My thought on the book of elders is as follows.
"Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter."

Does anybody else just throw this playlist on overnight? Ive probably played these videos like 50 times because this mans voice is the best for helping me fall asleep.

Every time I listen to the Vault Dwellers story I think of him as a Max from Mad Max ... He's nomadic , he's seen so much , the horrors of the cruel wasteland have left their mark on his soul and mind changing his life forever ... And while he became more nomadic ... The small bit of goodness and kindness left in his heart that he may have had before being banishedmade made him a  hero in the people's eyes . A legend that walked the wastes ... That is still told in stories for years to come .

"I had a really big gun."
Lol.

There is a cut content but can be added if you use the Restoration Patch,
According to my gameplay Ian faked his death in order to trick their enemies from looking for them after the events of Fallout 1 and he even thought that the Chosen One was the Vault Dweller because they resemble too much

Just played fallout 1 and I realize now that my Ian had a lore accurate death 💀
