That sounds heartbreaking — your own graduation should be a proud moment, not the day your family tries to erase you.

Whoever decided this “video game “ background was ideal, needs to have a long, serious talk about their decision making process.

This is a classic example of parents creating an unhealthy environment by showing favoritism. It’s devastating for the children involved, and the long-term impact on the family is always brutal.

Your chosen family.  This perfectly encompasses the true meaning of the quote “ The Blood of the covenant (your promises) are thicker than the water of the womb(genetic family). “.

All that moving . Makes me sick to stomach

I'm amazed Hannah didn't say to Nathan the thought never crossed my mind when her new brother in law asked the question about Sloan being her sister

I think family lineage is important. But my own self is even more important. If I could choose, I would still choose to live a happy life because I deserve it.

Not a LOAN, not "not alone."  She gave him his LIFE back, not "his wife back. "PROOFREADER??? Has anybody else noticed how often the name Priya shows up in these stories?  They said their vows, yet the wedding was off??

Just FYI, Westerville is part of the greater Columbus Metro area. She absolutely did NOT "go off to Columbus" in the manner described

You know what? There is nowhere near enough meat in this story. All that build up for what? An oblique confrontation where nothing is actually said? No real resolution. No real felt consequences except Sloan never spoke to Nathan again. It is so very frustrating. All that build up and for what?

These stories always have weddings starting in reception type settings instead of ceremony settings.

Why are all the pets  names in AI world always named Biscuit.

Why was she invited to her sister‘s wedding where people are going to find out that she’s the sister of the bride? Sloan would have to then explain everything out or make up a story to meet up with the lies that she said about Sloan. Seems like nobody has too bright of an intelligence there.

Good story thanks for sharing it with us.☺️

Amazing

Nice stories ✅

Someone who graduates from medical school NEVER refers to it as grad school. 8:13
Aside from that, Op is twenty-nine and seems to have defied time and arithmetic by spending three years in college, four years in med school and a MINIMUM of five years in a postgraduate surgical residency, which should make her thirty years old.
No way would she have been the lead surgeon on a case like the groom's brother, nor would a Harward hospital, with a top tier Maxillofacial department, have imported someone from Johns Hopkins, which does not even have a dental school.
I trained in Boston at two rival programs to Harvard, in Head and Neck Surgery, and there are strict hierarchies in who gets what in the trauma cases.  Details matter folks.

I’m guessing that OP was invited and not expected to come because they needed to invite her to say they did their part to reach out. OP not coming to the wedding would then give weight to their lies about her. The flaw in this story is that OP sent an RSVP requesting salmon so her family should have known she was coming. It’s a good story to show that people should always do their due diligence ( if her family had done this, then they would have known she was an exceptional doctor ). It also shows that all you need to do is be yourself and the truth will show up. In OPs case, the truth was sweet because her family was the one with the egg on their face especially Sloan when her true self was exposed. That would have been fun to watch on real time!

I don't understand where Sloane got OP's address.

The fact that she earned a full scholarship yet was still treated like she didn’t matter is heartbreaking. Would you have confronted the family? 😔

Nathan knew his fiancée was named Whitaker.  He knew she had a sister named Hanna.  He knew his brother’s doctor was named Hanna Whitaker.  He couldn’t put 2 and 2 together?  Where was the brother during the wedding?  The wedding took place earlier.  The confrontation took place at the reception, so how did the wedding ceremony not take place as planned that evening?  How did she not recognize Nathan at first, but recognized his handwriting?  Another Marcus?  AI needs to get consistent.
