Where the signal stops, no one knows where you are.
Somewhere on this road, we stopped checking the time. Not because we didn't care — because it stopped mattering. A mountain pass was deciding, on its own schedule, whether to let us through at all. And somewhere between the last village and the next, the road disappeared — into slush, into stone, into water crossing where no water should be.
Then the signal went. One bar. Then none.
No texts going out. No calls coming in. If something went wrong out here, no one back home would know — not for hours, maybe not until the next tower. That's a different kind of alone. Not lonely. Just unreachable.
Episode 2 of the Thin Air Diaries follows the Hilux deeper into territory that doesn't run on any clock we know. This is where the drive stops being a route, and starts being a test of patience, faith, and what "on time" even means once the mountains take over.
