Analyzing Evil: The Gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Rip Sid Haig

'The next thing comes out your mouth better be some brilliant Mark Twain type sh*t, because it is definately going on your Tombstone.' - Otis Driftwood.

I appreciate how you dont use the infantile language other creators use to get around youtubes censors. Stuff like grape or pdf files or other nonsense. You give the crimes and subject matter the seriousness it deserves while still getting revenue. Also feels like it shows respect for your audiences maturity and intelligence.

"What's the matter boy you don't like clowns? Don't we make you laugh!? Ain't we fucking funny!?"

I thing that makes the Firefly family all the more terrifying to me is tge fact that there is no supernatural elements to them. They are from a physical point of view human. And there are people/families that exist like these "people".

The way the Firefly Family treats it's victims is the most uncomfortable part for me. The cruel and dehumanizing treatment, the sick games they play. It's so upsetting.

Sid Haig was an actor who brought charisma to his role, making even a clown likeable.
I find clowns to be creepy, but Mr. Haig plays his role with the depth that makes me want to sit him down and ask,
"Who hurt you, my clown friend?"

Sid Haig was a class act and an old school actor, and i found him handsome in a unique way. RIP. And thank you.

Taken from the Villains Wiki:
“Early life

Vera-Ellen Wilson was born September 12, 1948, in the American rural town of Ruggsville County to parents Eve Wilson (Mother Firefly) and Johnny Lee Johns (Captain Spaulding).

As a child, Vera-Ellen showed signs of mania and psychosis; at the age of seven, she stabbed a schoolmate in the eye with a home-made knife.

When Vera-Ellen was nearly seventeen years of age, Otis B. Driftwood, a violent psychopath, roamed into Ruggsville County, and her family took him in. He formed a deep bond with his new adopted family, whom he gave the name "the Firefly", especially taking a liking with Vera-Ellen. Driftwood then nicknamed his new sister "Angel Baby", a nickname later shortened to "Baby".

In the summer of 1975, 10 years after Driftwood joined the family, he and Baby began a spree of murders across the country. They documented their exploits in a series of diaries and scrapbooks. Later, in the winter of 1976, Baby returned to Ruggsville alone, and resumed her life on the Firefly farm.”
This is probably a summary of Baby’s article from the defunct site., but the article doesn’t list any sources.

Also, for anyone wondering what happened to Dr. Satan after 1000 Corpses, there’s a deleted scene from The Devil’s Rejects where he dies in a hospital bed, presumably due to the shootout in the beginning of the movie.

The backstory of the family is way more interesting than anything we got on film. I want to see THAT movie...

Analyzing Evil: Eric Cartman from South Park

This family is why you stay strapped and mentally sound. The whole series feels like a training video on how to avoid or remedy demons like this. They get away with everything and it's frightening. It's a great series.

7:55 I love how you use pictures of the actors from old movies to show what they would have looked like at that age. Nice touch.

Bro, Vile, your comedy is underappreciated. Despite the evil you cover, your dry humour is chef's kiss. I'm surprised you did this video, and its greatly appreciated

Otis quotes the guy the Charles Manson sent to murder that family in the second movie. “I’m the devil and I’m here to do the devils work.”

TIL they made a third movie in this series 15 years after the main characters were very clearly fatally shot 74 times each at the end of the previous film.

Well this was a pleasant surprise! I never thought I’d see the most depraved fictional family in film get its own analysis. Sid Haig killed it as Spaulding, treating his depraved acts as more of a child’s game than as the horrific crimes they actually were.

Grandpas stand up set was and is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in a horror film.
