Roger Delgado is and will always be The Master. The definite article.
Missy is the only other incarnation to hold a candle to the character; it's a shame she didn't have more stories to work with, and I think they'd have gotten along well.
Pertwee, of course, is my doctor as well. They are both sorely missed.
As it happens I was just watching The Time Monster tonight!  Thanks for sharing this scene.

Jo had guts.

The Master was always so polite when addressing the companions. Like he would have no problem kidnapping  and threatening to kill them in order to get the doctor to do what he wants, but he would do it while addressing them as Ms. Grant

I do say Roger Delgado will always be the Master, and he created a Master that cannot ever be recreated just like Jackie Pearce the arch-enemy and principal villain in Blake,s Seven created a Servalan that cannot ever be recreated same with Paul Darrow Avon in B7 and Mike Keating Vila they too like Roger Delgado and Jackie Pearce have created characters that can never ever be recreated.

'The Time Monster' is probably one of the weaker Pertwee stories (but that's still a very high bar), but the back and forth and chess-like counter-scheming between the Doctor and the Master is fantastic (perhaps the best the show has ever done). I watched the era recently, and this is probably the Master at his most evil. Delgado was just the best at being bad.

I love the character of the Master. He's my favourite villain apart from the Daleks and the Cybermen. My 2 favourite actors to play the

This is the proper scheming Master, not the raving pantomimic  madman we later got.

I have a model of the Roger Delgado Master and his TARDIS, from this story and also it is tens of billions of  pities  that the Roger Delgado sadly never got to meet Sarah Jane Smith which he definitely would have met Sarah Jane had he been still alive for the final Jon Pertwee story which was to be a six part story called the Final Game it was a sadly lost opportunity . Sarah Jane met the Anthony Ainley Master, in the 20th anniversary story the 5 Drs and also the Ainley Master was not a patch on the Delgado Master and Ainleys Master was very OTT and rather much a pantomime villain where as Roger Delgados Master was very suave, charming, cunning and also very much like a James Bond villain where as Ainleys Master was very much a meglamaniac in comparison to Delgado Master.

This is who Jo Grant is,surely?

Roger was the best Master.

Hes not the master without white cuffs!
