Norse Mythology To Sleep To E09 - Baldr: The Death of the Light
The Sleepy Soldier
399 views
The gods of Asgard loved Baldr. Not admired, not revered — loved. Every creature in every world swore to keep him from harm. His mother went through all of creation to collect those oaths. She missed one thing.
This is the story of the most beloved figure in Norse mythology, the grief that could not be outrun, and the moment the gods understood what they were losing — and could not stop it. The death of Baldr, the funeral of Hringhorni, Odin's whisper before the fire, Nanna's broken heart, and the long ride to Hel that came back empty-handed.
Settle in. The fire is low. That is as it should be.
