Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments about this episode! Massive thanks also to James Marshall for his amazing score, and of course to Nick Briggs for providing his usual amazing voice work. Both really elevated this project in my eyes, and I'm so glad to enjoy their involvement ❤

I love how you can practically see how fed up the unbroken Dalek is.

This is... Absolutely incredible! At first it feels almost comedic, but remembering how the Daleks view failures really helps set up just how unprepared and alone this single Dalek is after so long. I'm fascinated to see where this goes, and how much more it delves into the Dalek psyche.

Awesome work! You actually made me feel sorry for a Dalek.  I thought only Rob Shearman could do that.

Weirdly fascinating, as we’ve never seen this side of them before. The outline on the floor of where the impaired Dalek had stood for so long was a haunting touch. More!

This is incredibly good on every level of production. Top notch work.
It's always fascinating when people delve into Dalek psychology... some of my favourite moments reading Doctor Who novelisations as a kid were when the books would explore parts that weren't shown in the TV serial, such as what the Daleks were thinking.

I dunno what' worse, being the Dalek that literally just sat attached to a wall for possbly years, or being the Dalek that just pressing buttons and pulling levers 24/7 for possbly years.

Hell, I never thought about it before: there are Daleks who were born, lived, and died preforming menial labor like this, without ever seeing an actual battlefield.  How many Daleks just kneeled over and dies before ever firing their gunstick once, while living for entire centuries—out living entire dynasties and empires yet never (directly)doing what their species was created for.

Ok everyone... pay attention!
THAT, is how you film Daleks.
Brilliant, quite brilliant. Well done to all involved

Beautiful stuff, Anthony:  and as someone who has, relatively recently, become disabled, I felt real sympathy for the Dalek - which is something I'd never have thought I'd be capable of. Bravo.

That has got to be the most understanding dalek ive ever seen.
I still think eventually its going to be fed up with the obsolete one, hearing the words "Impearment aknowledged" coming from a dalek was... interesting.

Looks like a typical 9-to-5 job with no retirement in sight.

This is seriously fantastic. How you made me feel sorry for a Dalek is just ridiculous.

This just goes to show why they truly are driven crazy inside those shells. No autonomy - just orders.

Where do I start? The textures, the lighting, the atmosphere, the realism, the characterisation of the impaired Dalek. Incredible. Absolutely brilliant. Oh and the clever use of the creepy 60s era music - nearly forgot to mention that!

I don't think I've ever felt so bad for a Dalek before. Fantastic animation, can't wait for part 2

Beautiful! I love how you think about the technology and compatibility with the Daleks and how you feel the sense of decay and the evident indifference of those higher up the command chain, even without showing them. Nick as always does a great job of voicing unique Daleks and making our rusted boy sound distinctive. Very excited for the next three episodes!

I never noticed how expressive daleks can be. The design is so perfectly rigid that even little changes from the default can convey a lot.
You managed to actually make the robot look sad just by making the eye-stalk point slightly down instead of straight.

Amazing work on this, the Daleks feel alive in the way they move and react to things, very impressive!💙

I love the small detail of malleability when the manipulator interacts with anything.

Thank again to Josh for raising the awareness of this amazing project! ❤️❤️ Loved it!👏👏

The Dalek civil service are closing a department central government forgot existed. Love it.
