I really appreciate that you give level by level changes on screen. This really helps follow along and try myself with a DnDB build as I watch and pause.
I really liked this character build deep dive, I could imagine myself playing this character and facing the wall at level 5 and putting in the roleplaying internal struggle to bounce back at 6 stronger than ever. Amazing video Chris!
I think it would be great if you had a section where you talked about how the build was to play. "It was really great at X because my XYZ abilities really worked well together. I could really deal with X threats pretty well throughout my experience. As for weaknesses however I did have problems with X and after thinking about it you could compensate via Y." Just a nice section about practically play experience with the practical build.
To be fair to ranged combat, melee builds can never really be expected to match their theoretical damage output due to sometimes being out of range / going down from damage or conditions. The fact that this build matches theoretical melee damage output is even more impressive than it looks
13:40 Having just watched Dungeon Dudesâ video where they gave Mage slayer a C rank this is pretty funny. Just goes to show that different people value different thingsđ
This was basically my wifes character in our last campaign. Ended at level 16, and she was a Ranger Hunter, Rogue Assassin using the 2014 rules. She absolutely slaughtered mobs when she got surprise, she mercd a Beholder from Stealth before anyone else even went.
I love how versatile this build is, given its variety of skills, the ranger spell list and cunning strike options, in addition to solid damage. Excited to try it out!
I know this wonât show up in DPR calculations, but 6th level ranger is actually quite useful for extra movement. Plus 10 ft move along with climb and swim speed is nice for exploration. Also gives your character a bit more of a ninja vibe.
