Great video! You've solved a very frustrating problem that 3 different "Smiths" in my area simply could not comprehend! A little filing to get rid of that "divot" is all it took to get a mint condition early model 1100 back in the field again after 20 years! No one, including myself, thought it could be in the trigger group. I've had several people replace interceptor latches, gas O-rings, change ammo countless times, all for naught! Two minutes with a file after watching this video solved a decades-long headache and mystery! Thank you again for your helpful videos!
I’ve got an 11-87 sportsman, doesn’t want to “double feed” but rather fails to eject the next shell from the magazine tube. Doesn’t even cycle by hand so it’s not a gassing issue, obviously. Basically, when you rack the bolt no shell ejects onto the carrier and effectively makes it a single shot with spare shells in the mag tube. Was wondering if this could be because of a loose interceptor latch? Replaced mag spring, follower, cleaned and lubed until it’s spick and span but no luck so far.
Gunsmithing chanel!!?? Awesome! Looking for videos on double feeding on shotguns. Got a new Dickinson turkish pump and it double / triple feeds. It’s horrible. Something had to be wrong with it tryibg to figure it out
New gunsmith starting out here! Helping a friend with his 1100 and having the same double feed issue i think. I replaced the interceptor latch as he had a 16 gauge on a 12 gauge but still not working ill have to check out the bottom of the disconnector next thanks! What exactly turns the interceptor latch on? Is it the action bar pushing the disconnector into the interceptor latch? I ask because the top of his disconnector is worn and im worried the action bar isn't moving it enough now to activate the interceptor latch.
I'm a brand new gunsmith fresh out of school thats just found your channel, with a couple 1100's coming my way from a friend of a friend. Says he's having feeding issues, how much you wanna bet this heres the solution!
I have an 1187 that is missing the interceptor latch. I only ever load one in the chamber and one in the tube. Is its purpose to hold the 3rd shell in the tube when the 2nd is being cycled into the chamber? Just curious if its necessary for me to replace it. On the skeet field you only ever have 2 shells loaded max.
I put a Carlson's tube extension on my 1979 Remington 1100 Trap. I've taken it to the gun Smith several times, but it still won't feed the final round in the tube. A lot of the shells have deformed brass. I'm not sure why. It's possible they've been sitting in the tube too long. I'm not sure that's the problem, though. I'm not a gunsmith. When I used to bird hunt and shoot skeet with my grandfather, my Remington 1100 would sometimes fail to eject properly, meaning the extracted shell would get stuck in the closing bolt. That's a known issue with 1100s, and easily fixed by removing the forend, and cleaning the parts. Usually I only had to wipe them down. I'm confused about this failure to feed the last shell. It's unclear whether it's the deformed shells, or a problem with the parts that feed the shells. I never had the problem before I put the tube extension on.
