In this video, we visit Asil Erkek Kuoaförü in Alsancak, Izmir — a traditional Turkish barber in his 70s who continues to work behind the chair and practice the craft he has dedicated so many years to.

His barbershop is simple, authentic and far from flashy. As soon as you walk through the door, you feel the old-school atmosphere of a classic Turkish neighborhood barber shop.

Barber Ali  gave me a traditional hair and beard cut, made the small finishing adjustments, and completed the session with a very relaxing massage and a fresh final style.

One thing that makes this video a little different from our usual sessions is the conversation. We had small conversations throughout the haircut. In many traditional Turkish barber shops, chatting while cutting hair is simply part of the experience, and I wanted to share that authentic atmosphere with you.
