I was coming off of a cold back when this was recorded...if you're wondering why I sound a bit off. Fun fact: This is probably also why I ditched playing passively and went full murder mode

Man, can't wait till Joov Dishonors Grelod the Dishonored kind one.

Imagine hating the way he's playing when dishonored is literally all about player choice, freedom, and replayability 😩😩

I told myself before watching this that I wasn't gonna play Dishonored again. I'm having trouble taking myself seriously.

If you kill granny rags slackjaw gives you imo one of the best lines in a game. 'want to hear something funny? When we were kids, we thought granny rags was a terrible witch. Then we grew up and figured she was just a sad old lady. Turns out we were right the first time.'

Oh he’s getting into PEAK.
The amount of hours I’ve sunk into this game, is ridiculous.

1:02:57 I’ve played this game…to many times…I had no idea Emily could die there and it counts as an ending

"that first ending is dark, man"

because the second one where you casually install a traumatized, psychopathic child on the throne of a dying kingdom ravaged by plague and fear is quite the happy ending !

Every new joov plus+ video is like a little kiss on the forehead

8:02 i was the chatter who pointed out that wallace and nate share a voice actor, and your excited reaction to that information will forever warm my heart lmfao

"I'm getting teabagged by plague doctors!" I'M ROLLING

I'm ngl I think it's funny that you immediately compared one of the characters to Arcane, because while watching Arcane, I couldn't help but shake the feeling there was a huge similarity to Dishonored. Most likely just the steampunk aesthetics, but still.

On the mission where you get the chance to kill the city announcer, if you don’t turn the quest all the way in and return back outside, the announcer is replaced by a female. The female voice actor for the announcer is Carrie Fisher, aka princess Liea from Star Wars.

27:55 in lore killing them is actually the merciful thing to do and it's true for every major target. They all go through some pretty wicked stuff after you "spare" them

Joov doing everything in his power to singlehandedly destroy a nation and personally ruin the lives of thousands.

its one of my faves. the story telling isnt just the dialogue, or even item lore dumps, but also environmental storytelling

Hell yeah, Dishonored is one of my Top 5 Favorite games!

6:30 to be fair, "whales" in Dishonored aren't exactly what you'd assume. They're like actually magical creatures that simultaneously exist in the physical and void dimensions (the void being where the Outsider lives).
It might be "one mechanical difference" from steampunk, but it's really the cultural and world building effects that make it stand out from other Steam/Diesel-punk aesthetics.

I'd honesty say that its almost easier to understand the idea if you replace every instance of "whale" with "leviathan"

But yeah, definitely still a subcategory of steampunk.

I'm really vibing with this channel and watching Joov play these interesting mid 2000s - early 2010s games that I've heard of but didn't play :D

1:23 Counting or not counting gang violence?

"I'm going to do something stupid" fast forward 10 seconds "OH NO THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS"
