⚠️ In Iran, landlords usually ask for a large deposit and don’t charge much, or sometimes any, monthly rent.
Because of the 70% inflation in Iran and the daily rise in the dollar exchange rate, landlords can use the deposit money to buy dollars. By next year, their dollars may double in value, allowing them to make a profit.
So this method is more profitable for them than receiving monthly rent.
⚠️Last year, my rent was 300 million tomans as a deposit + 16 million tomans in monthly rent.
This year, the deposit stayed the same, but the monthly rent increased to 30 million tomans.
