A few months ago I added one step to my editing workflow. I didn't expect it to change this much😳👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQXY3hTDgos

Nice video. I was always taught that a good Photoshop job is one you cant tell happened

You hit the nail on the head.  From someone who learnt to photograph in film,  editing was only a tool to slightly enhance a vision not completely falcify reality.  Photography is still art, what do we want to say and make you feel in this image.  Photographs aren't a collection of instagram images all slapped with the same preset, anyone can do that.. for me no two images could have the same filter, its as unique as painting.  love that you help us not only use but constructively consider tools to use in our photograph.  An image may have had so much editing but still be subtle and naturally enhanced looking.  that's the key.

Man your personality is so fun! Really enjoy watching these videos

When I bought presets, I used them to then try to replicate them. It really helped to do that! It can be a great teaching tool, if used that way.

WOW! Loved seeing the difference in his pre-edited photos!!

A truly valuable video, especially the point about what feelings I want my pictures to evoke. I am a beginner and have occasionally used presets, and even when editing manually, I never asked myself in advance how I should edit my images. I would certainly be much happier with my images if I had thought about it in advance and knew exactly how to use Lightroom even better. If I could afford it, I would definitely book the masterclass. Thank you for your video. 🙏🏼

Is it weird that I have never used presets and don’t actually feel like I want to? Even creating my own doesn’t interest me. I feel like every photo warrants a clean assessment of what should be done to it. Yeah, I could probably save some time, but I like feeling my way through the process.

This was much better than I expected ❤ I am gonna try applying these tips to edit my pics in darktable or ART! Thanks!

This video is a great tutorial! I especially appreciate the tip about stepping away from the screen to avoid over-editing. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Some very valuable advice. I have adapted your suggestions to Rapid Raw and everything looks a whole lot better. Thank you.

Using something without knowing what it’s doing or how is always a path to being owned by the thing. Staying away from presets until you’re a master editor is pure Jedi advice. 👍👍

This is pretty much how I worked in my darkroom. Dodge and burn techniques with tools I made up to create the mood. Mind you there is no reset in the darkroom so if you didn't like the result you had to bin it. You had to know your papers chemistry and film.

Been editing for close to 20 years, I barely ever used presets and never played with masks. I think it's time

You was just the person I needed now! I find this video very helpful and inspiring to my self-improvement as a photographer. Thanks, you're great! Much love from Toruń – Poland ❤

Love the energy here, subscribed.

There are often times when I form a visual idea in my mind first before I go out to shoot based on what I’ve imagined.

Even before taking a photo, I already have a sense of how I want to shoot it and what I can do in post-processing.

When I edit, I usually adjust the image according to the vibe I felt and experienced in person, rather than strictly relying on what the camera captured.

Each and every tip in this video is spot-on!

As a newbie, I find your videos to be helpful and engaging! Thank you!

i love your teaching. you're so good! very inspiring.
