I can't believe I was at the game to witness history!

The camera constantly shows Ovechkin's mother. But the mother herself is a two-time Olympic basketball champion. One of the best basketball players in the world at that time.

If 20 years ago someone said that we’d be looking at Gretzky’s goal record getting tied, they’d be laughed out of the building. Truly a phenomenal moment in time by a phenomenal player.

A record they said would never be broken.

As a Pens fan, Ovie is incredible and deserves all the love he's getting. Amazing.

I was born in 1987. When I die I believe that I will have lived through and witnessed one of the greatest era's of sports. We have witnessed so many records chased, broken, still going.

I don't watch hockey as much, but i am a numbers and sports aficionado. I am super excited to see Ovechkin do this as I have learnt that Gretzky's record are absolutely insane. Closely following, happy to have lived in this time.

It was a pleasure to watch both Gretzky and Ovechkin play in person. Two legends in one lifetime.

Осы рекордты Овечкин бұзады деп 2 жыл бұрын погоня басталғалы күтіп едім)) Еңбегім ақталды😂 Александр, сен космоссың!❤

@Shufflezzz-m7y 1 year ago

im not an ovi fan or a caps fan, BUT to do this in less games, in an era where scoring is WAAYYYYY more difficult, is honestly pretty nutty.... i remember gretz breaking the previous record and everyone said it was a record no one would ever break again... now here we are 20 something years later and ovi has done it style... grats to you ovi, great career.
