I’m still prefer living here in Europe than in the Philippines! Wherever you go you need to work to get a good life and here it’s really worth it because even you work at least you get paid way way better and you can buy whatever you want unlike in the PH even you work hard with entire your life still you cannot afford a lot of things and much importantly the healthcare system here is great because you don’t pay nothing when you get sick even câncer you don’t pay nothing and what about in the Philippines? You just die because the government won’t help you at all!

The government through Dept of Trade and Industry can extend financial help to the couple. Thank you Tatay Waffle for being a nice entrepreneur.

I don’t know how things work in Belgium but I am surprised he isn’t collecting a pension surely if he has worked all his life that’s his entitlement if he has paid into the system

Interesting video. Tatay Waffle has an interesting story and nice to see him working to create a viable business. As others have suggested .... yes, he needs to get his visa affairs in order and/or hand the business over to his GF so she can legally operate it. I will likely return to Mactan Newtown in early 2026 and would be happy to discuss possibilities with him and his GF.
Your videos are real and I'm always impressed with how understanding and non-judgmental you are with your interviewees regardless of their circumstances.

Belgium Waffles?

Since annulment is so difficult in the Philippines marriage is not a quick solution for his visa. He does not have the money for a investment visa for a trade zone like Subic. He also does not have the money for a retirement visa.
But there is a regular work visa if a Philippines company wants to sponsor him for a "Special Skill". I don't know if it would work in the Philippines, but in the USA skill in a regional cuisine used to qualify for some people.
So if his girlfriend or someone formed a licensed Belgian Waffle restaurant that needed a Chef "Skilled in Belgian Cuisine". That might allow him to be sponsored.
But he needs to be clear on these videos, his girlfriend DOES ALL THE WORK. He just taught her the recipe, out of love. Otherwise he could have visa troubles. But it's only his girlfriend doing everything for now.
