The new version of Fender Studio Pro has an integrated generative AI engine that will generate tracks, separate stems and transform your voice into that of a whole range of different singers. What's it about, how well does it work and how do we feel about it? Let's talk about it!

The future of Muzak

frustrating that basic things like flat browser search that show all the content of a selected folder and it's sub folders are not implemented, or preview display of a midi files, things like similar sample search like we have in ableton are not implemented, instead they spend their time integrating subscription based AI services...quite annoying

Another interesting thing to mess around with, but who will use it beyond that. Personally I'd just do my own thing & it would be unused, like so many other things, like midi composer software. Worth a look then best forgotten about.

Full disclosure I have only really used the Splice integration by feeding it a portion of a track to see what it comes up with...which sometimes can give me a direction I hadnt thought of or some interesting additions. I think it can be useful if we use ai as an additive and not a "do it all for me" sort of tool. Just my 2-3 cents. Btw great song and maybe even more poignant today!

Great in depth review... My problem still with AI like Moises and the AI Singers is you can't make claim to AI elements in your mix, however, with processors like IK Multimedia "Resing" you CAN indeed make 100% claim as their not online AI tools, they're processed in your DAW... I like to put the vocal in melodyne and create a harmony, then resing the harmony myself, then put it through IK Multimedia Resing and it's then yous 100% and it's quite realistic. With the Moises instrument generated parts both cannot be claimed for royalties in your song, but if you use the likes of "Tonalics" from Celemony then you once again own the entire process for your songs, and perhaps wouldn't need to go to a studio and pay for them to be re-done... But really enjoyed your review 🙂

It would be interesting if you generate a voice with the guitar as source.
Btw: you can make corrections with melodyne on a createt voice.

Watching this I’m looking forward to see how other daw’s will implement AI. This looks more like a collaboration with Moises, with an added subsciption requirement, than in-house development from Fender..

4:03 correct, the artist gets paid once but they do actually get paid! I worked in radio for 30 years. I was paid to do voiceover work and ad reads etc. I was payed once and the company got to use the ad as much as they wanted. I have zero problem with that. I buy a guitar, pay once and play it every day if I want, there’s no difference in my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Kind of reminds me of REM. Hey, that would be a great song. If you really produced it out it’s kind of catchy.

"i assumed AI would be clever" -- "You are absolutely right in pointing that out.... let me just..."

I thought you were singing "I know we've all got stuff in Iran ..." until the AI rendition gave it more clarity as "I know we've got stuck in a land that time forgot".

I was mucking around with LUNA last year, basically just to record myself practicing and capture ideas to go over later and just try the DAW as it was free. Opened up the session recently and it automatically started analysing all my tracks with AI. See ya LUNA. Never again.

I’ve been a user of studio one since version 5, and they have always done good updates. AI is subjective, if you like it then use it, if you don’t, then there’s no issue. Let’s be honest, most of us don’t have multi million dollar studios, we’re home musicians/performers who have small to midsize studios, and if you’re reading this on a computer or phone you are using AI, Siri, Google whatever…it’s just integrated now in a music daw. It’s up to the user if they want to use it. 👍🏻😎

I’ve got mixed feelings about this. My voice is pretty limited and this obvs replaces my timbre etc. but what would this make of Bob Dylan or markknpfler?
I think I’d be better off with some singing lessons and some reverb ! But really interesting software

I'll stick to SoundID VoiceAI with local AI thank you very much!

I think this sort of thing is great. AI not being overwhelmingly clever is good because it leaves us with plenty of new options for being creative. How strange would it be for AI to compute artistically accurate and highly desirable results using what seems to be not enough information to begin with?

Ace studio pro is also very very nice and it works with an audio bridge that keep everything synchronized opens perfectly and exports to the host DAW two ways . I’m trying to decide between it or Moises but I think Luna will completely work with it . Any suggestions kind sir?
