Imagine if you sold high on Kuminga, especially when teams were acting like they wanted to throw four first round picks to get him, then you don’t even play him and kill his value and end up giving him away for almost nothing 😂

As a warriors fan, getting kuminga and wiseman back to back years quite literally ended stephs legacy

As a Jazz fan, taking Udoka Azubuike in 2020 over Mcdaniels & Bane when we were becoming a major contender with Mitchell/Gobert was a franchise-changing mistake. Our GM said he had Azubuike #2 on his big board on sports radio the very next day. Absolutely atrocious decision.

It’s definitely my Magic-bias, but I’m staggered not to see Jett Howard mentioned on here at all.

Bro plays at times like I’ll be seeing him playing the British Basketball League on my side of the Atlantic Ocean in a few years - that’s even if he even gets on the court! Get ready to learn Beans On Toast, buddy.

Overall, I’d say the Weltman-era front office have drafted well, but Jett as a LOTTERY PICK has been a huge miss.

the issue with taking guys that don't wanna play somewhere is that you risk pissing off agents and those agents have players that they'd steer away from you.  Some teams don't wanna mess that up.

as a jazz fan THANK YOU for not putting cody williams as a regret, horrid rookie season but he was always a project and has looked good as of late

Analytics don't count the heart and killer instincts that someone like Cassel has or if they coachable and now people are seeing its flaws

1:18 "they could have developed over time" 🤣My dude, have you seen how bad we are at developing young players over the past... decade?

Kuminga is solid nice work in progress

Crazy how the spurs have built a great team through the draft, but their 2021 and 2022 drafts were some of the worst in team history

Great video. Definitely do the draft day trade regrets, too!

14:14 you're making a BIG assumption that the Spurs would have taken Reed if Castle was off the board.  They had picks 4 and 8 that year, and the fact that they used 8 to trade the Timberwolves Rob Dillingham for a future pick swap makes me believe that they only had something like 3~4 guys in the draft they even liked.  If I had to guess they would have been happy with any of Sarr, Castle and Clingan, and once Clingan was off the board, they were desperately looking to trade out of the 8th pick...would not be surprising if they didn't like Reed, but would have taken either of Sarr/Clingan to play the 4/5 next to Wemby (like Clingan at 4 if Castle's off the board probably would have meant they don't need/want Kornet in Free Agency, and instead look for a guard/wing, the Fox trade still happens).

As a sixers fan it still hurts how great we drafted (after markelle) but just undersold the rookies every single time (Joe & Mikal hurt even more after trading Jared for cents on the dollar)

Good video.  You are really getting a lot better with the mechanics of the presentation and video.  Cool to see you continuing to develop, grow, and I enjoy your videos.  Oh!  And I'm sorry you had to talk about Scoot.  I could see the pain in your eyes 😂

Dude. Draft day trades are insane because I know so little of them but every single time I look up a draft and see them im amazed. Especially like rockets with Sengun!!

I remember going into that 2021 lottery okc had a chance to get two top 4 picks and ended up with zero. Taking Giddey at 6 worked out in the end but it must be nice to have that Spurs draft luck

Multiple things have made modern day GM's look absolute mental.

1. The age of "hype or substance". Too many GMs looking at mixtapes from HS, seeing players struggle as Freshman or the Gleague and convincing themselves these athletes are actual basketball players. These guys live off their superior size and athleticism and then run into an entire team just as big and just as athletic and fold.

2. The day of the Alpha is dead. Prior to "prep schools" and "academies" (and I'm not talking about old, legacy schools. I'm talking pop up factories) players learned to be THE GUY at their school. Lead. Be killers. Learn to carry on both ends. Now, when you are "just a guy" on a Prep team with 7 other future 1st round guys, SEVERAL of these guys don't put on what they would've as the man and these teams mask their flaws. So a year later after 1 year in college, these teams focus on the "role they played" and pick role players in the Top 10 based off "projections".

Every year, busts are easier and easier to identify, yet these teams continue to pick these guys on outdated ideals, and continue to buy into physical hype versus actual skill.

Bro hating on the Rockets 💔💔 They did okay

Great idea,worse draft day trades..
.

Precious Achiuwa actually had a really good season with the King's last season, he went to Sac as a contract dump, but he played so well, the King's are actually thinking about re-signing him.
