I use to overshare at every job and it caused me so many issues; now I don’t share about my personal life except for general niceties, my coworkers think I’m closed off but I’m having a much better employment experience 😂

I follow her. Wise woman. Great learning tools for me. 72 yr old female here. Never to old to learn or change

That part about being quiet to gather intelligence hit different. Always thought I had to fill every silence, prove my worth with words. But lately I've been learning that the strongest people I know barely say anything at all. It reminds me of something I read in What the Silence Tried to Say by Alira Sennel about how our real power often lives in the spaces between words. Strange how much clearer everything becomes when you stop trying so hard to be heard.

A sign of a good podcast is that you can listen and enjoy it all the way through without thinking about the time. I just listened straight through four of your podcasts … and still want more. Awesome!

I almost skipped this book because of the title. Girl Boss Hustle: Earn 10k From Home sounded like just another flashy promise. But once I started reading I realized it was completely different. Instead of telling me to work harder it explained how to work smarter. Instead of filling my head with hype it gave me actual steps I could take with the resources I already had. That was the turning point for me because I didn’t need more motivation, I needed direction. And that’s exactly what it gave me

I really appreciated this. I was a fool most of my life as I was way too open and nice. I never got respect either. Now... I listen, I observe and share only if I trust. The dress code thing too is true because people do judge a book by its cover and people really notice everything. Working with other women when I was younger and still now at times I can feel their jealousy if I dress too feminine or nice because many dress frumpy and as Evy said they think why bother. I love being a feminine woman and no one will ever take that away from me but I have often dressed down when I knew I was going to work in certain environments with certain people.

For the women out there who are dating and complaining about men not asking them questions on the first date please listen to this interview. Revealing too much about yourself too soon is dangerous when you’re a woman. And women are so concerned about having a man get to know them on a first date. What they should really be doing is getting to know who he is in vetting him. He needs to earn your trust first before you start telling him where you work, where you live, whether you have family or friends. Because a predator will take that informationand get what he needs or wants from you.

I need this. Dealing with coworkers that arr snakes. Literally cannot take another moment of two new coworkers thinking I'm able to be pushed over and walked on.

I love the host allowing the interviewer to be able to express themselves without putting their own personal opinions into the mix.

Problem is... When I'm quiet for the most part I get accepted in...As soon as I express myself they can't handle my opinions...there egos are too sensitive.

I started a career in a large corporation where my female boss was overly familiar with me. I didn’t like it but I went along with it because she was in charge of my brand new career and I wanted to make her happy. When she started top cross the line (wanting to come to my private home, consume alcohol, pry into my personal, and make sexual comments to me) I showed some anger to her and then later sat her down and very directly asked her to return to normal professional boundaries. Her response to me was “our friendship comes first”. I was not able to put the toothpaste back in the bottle and was not able to rectify that situation. I learned a huge lesson about overly familiar people.

I have had vitriol from mothers all my life - they’d gossip about me, exclude me from social gatherings and even made a formal complaint against me for being on the menopause! Took me years to work out they were jealous of me because I had no children, no responsibilities and could do with my time and salary what the hell I wanted while they were stuck in loveless marriages, had problematic kids and were drowning in debt while keeping up the pretence of being happy. It nearly killed them when I retired at 55!!!!!

Many years ago, I was working in a certified Nursing Assistant, we had to wear nylons under our pants. It was so uncomfortable because they would creep down and they were hot because you were moving, walking alot. So somehow a conversation came up about unisex treatment. I stated the supervisor was unfair and did not treat male and female the same: They did not make the men wear pantyhose. I also told them I was constantly dealing with heat rash caused from the nylons. Shortly after our conversation, a Memo came out where we did not have to wear pantyhose moving forward.😊😊

Evy’s perspective is 🔥. The way she breaks down influence, boundaries, and reading people feels like a real-life masterclass in strength with wisdom. Protecting presidents taught her lessons most of us will never experience, yet she translates them into tools we can all use in everyday life — whether it’s business, relationships, or just protecting our own peace. I love how she shows that being ‘bulletproof’ isn’t about being cold, it’s about resilience, adaptability, and knowing your worth. 💯 Inspiring conversation.
