Wow , I wonder is it a school, academy or university the environment is amazing. Unlike my university which has only 50 minutes class.

Dangerous acts were staples of road shows. The lion tamer, the trapeze artist, the high diver, and Harry Houdini all flirted with death. Starvation cut too close to the bone in the aftermath of WW1 when this story was written. A European audience would have had little appetite for that.

Ah you're not in the driver seat. You're not driving your personality

Personality withering as people stop being interested. Suffering because no one is interested

Loss of human connection

breaking down the hunger artist is ridiculous...It is a long and beautiful joke...SPOLIER ALERT the punch line (so to speak) and also climax or release, is when he says he couldn't find anything he likes to eat well enough.....the denouement is also of course obvious. But deconstructing it is totally useless and counter productive. Read it ....Listen to it......enjoy it. It is a beautiful and funny and uniquely illuminating story in way that the best art and literature often is and exactly in the way Kafka says it should be. More of a wedge with a little hanmer going tink tink tink until the ice splits rather than an axe but nevertheless......Don t ruin it by deconstructing it!
