Oh my! Excellent instructional video. Made my fingers itch to get dirty with my rarely used soft pastels. Last year I dug deep into my wallet buying pastel pencils and a ton of oil pastels, my new fav. This video is a gem; over ten years old and still going strong. It just popped up in my feed today and I will subscribe. Greetings from Toronto 🇨🇦
At first I thought "26 minute video? Who has time for that?" but now I am grateful I did take my time to watch it. Very helpful video, I recommend it. It's more than worth the time.
Having watched many instructional videos on pastel painting, I found this one the most helpful. I liked your teaching style and appreciated all the tips. After working in other media, I'm just starting out in pastels, and will try to copy this painting using the approaches you showed. Many thanks!
I enjoyed your way of creating this painting and talking through your thought process. The drawing-in of the outer border left it with even more character in the end, so I'll stop taping the sides on every thing. Just a delight seeing this come together. Thanks!
This was so good. For some reason I totally forgot about pastel artwork LOL. I used to even fiddle around with it when I was younger. Your personality is wonderful and I thank you for sharing your talent
I love your work. I heard you say this photo was taken in Monument, Colorado. I just live very close to Monument so it made watching you do this pastel work even more enjoyable!
